Abstract
Literature and cinema are the most effective forms of Mass Communication. Cinemas represent patriarchy on the big screen through the male gaze and societal stereotypes.The primary aim of this paper is to analyze the sexual objectification of women in Arindam Sil's film adaptation from the perspective of Laura Mulvey's male gaze theory.British film theorist Laura Mulvey first introduced the theory of the male gaze in her 1975 essay 'Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema'. The male gaze is the act of depicting women and the world in the visual arts and literature from a masculine perspective
