Abstract
This study tries to investigate the use of euphemisms and taboo words in sending political messages in Albasheer Show. The analysis used qualitative and quantitative methods, and their concentrations were on rhetorical devices proposed by Hai-Long (2008). The quantitative method used the questionnaire
applied to a random sample of 100 participants through Google Docs to improve the hypothesis. The form was sent to Albasheer’s group on Facebook and Telegram, and it depended on closed and open questions. The researcher chose selected episodes in Albasheer Show on YouTubefrom November 2020 to May 2021 and found that Albasheer used taboo words directly and indirectly. The objective results showed that this program has a good effect on young people in Iraq, but it is not suitable to women. Thus, there is no need to use taboo words because the program can convey political messages without causing embarrassment or anxiety to the hearers
