This investigation on language-learning apps for smartphones comes at a timely moment: the global spread of the Covid-19 virus. Students at the State University of Yogivemana, Andhra Pradesh, studied in the Faculty of Languages and Literature as part of the M.A English Program. They were in 2nd, and 4th, semesters. The findings suggest that children's usage of cellphones may have a positive effect on their linguistic development. Additional proof includes the fact that students who regularly use smartphones report improvements in their writing, language, speaking and listening abilities.
