Abstract
Al-Wasiti was able to transcend the prevailing creative concepts that surrounded him within the borders of the
Arabworld or the neighboring civilizations. He was concerned with the deep meaning of existence rather than what
is on the surface. Thus, he entered the world of abstraction with complete faith and conviction considering beauty as
a basic condition of life, since it is in its absolute form one of the attributes of God Almighty and is realized in what
God created. The artist excelled in the use of calligraphy, color, engraving and decoration, and this was naturally
reflected in painting as one of the types of plasticarts. The research aims to reveal the characteristics and artistic
features of the miniatures depicted in Baghdad, including Al-Wasiti miniatures.
