Teachers’ Job Satisfaction on Students’ Academic Performance in Hargeisa, Somaliland

Abstract
This study's objective was to evaluate how teachers' job satisfaction in Hargeisa, Somaliland, impacted students' academic performance. The study specifically aimed to ascertain the extent to which teachers' workload influences students' performance on exams, the extent to which teachers' terms and conditions of employment influence students' performance, the role of interpersonal working relationships among teachers in influencing students' performance on exams, and the impact of working conditions on students' performance on exams. The study's descriptive survey research design was used to collect and record the instructors' thoughts and replies on how job satisfaction affects students' exam performance. Teachers from the first division in Ahmed Dhagax Village in Hargeisa, Somaliland, with 20 teachers, the second division with 15 teachers, the third division with 10 teachers, and the fourth division with 15 teachers made up the study's target population. Four secondary schools were involved. Teachers were chosen because they play a vital role in the school and they had, had important information concerning job satisfaction and its role on students’ performance in examinations. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 52 teachers who took part in the final study. Teachers’ questionnaires were used as tools to collect data. The questionnaires were designed basing on the objectives of this study The study found that if the relationship between teachers and the Teachers' Service Commission is improved, teachers would have more time to prepare for their lessons, leading to better results in examinations.
