Pages: 7251-7268
Abstract
Sustainable public procurement has been widely used to achieve global sustainability agenda. Malaysia‟sgovernment has initiated the National Sustainable Consumption and Production Blueprint 2016 – 2030 and 11th Malaysia Plan, which promotes economic growth without compromising the environment or jeopardising the needs of future generations. However, despite the government‟s initiative, there have been relatively small articles discussing the implementation of sustainable public procurement in Malaysia and what the future holds. This study explores a literature review regarding Malaysia‟s performance of sustainable public procurement through the patterns and trends from the year 2011 – 2021. The results show that the emerging patterns and trends from previous publications concentrated on the policy, sectors, challenges, and determinants that drive sustainable public procurement implementation in Malaysia. It is envisaged that this study will provide the basis for future research into sustainable public procurement practices in Malaysia and beyond.
