Abstract
Wind turbine technology has evolved significantly, transforming the energy landscape by harnessing the power of the wind to generate electricity. This paper provides an overview of wind turbine technology, covering key components and advancements in the field. The primary components, including rotor blades, hubs, nacelles, generators, gearboxes, towers, and control systems, are discussed in detail. Additionally, the role of ancillary systems such as yaw mechanisms, anemometers, and braking systems is explored. The control system's significance in optimizing energy capture and turbine safety is emphasized, as is the power electronics' role in converting variable-frequency AC power into grid-compatible electricity. The abstract also highlights the ongoing innovations and research efforts aimed at improving wind turbine efficiency, reducing maintenance costs, and enhancing their contribution to the global transition to clean and sustainable energy sources.
