Abstract
Dairy farming is one of India's fastest growing industries. It offers many opportunities to individuals and has a long-term impact on social and economic development, particularly in rural areas. The social and economic empowerment of rural women has been emphasised through collaborative efforts by public and private dairy farms, as well as active participation by women. The author discussed the industry's reach and establishment in rural areas, as well as the ways in which this industry can contribute to women's socioeconomic empowerment. The current case involves the operation of a dairy farm in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam district. This study included 225 dairy women from rural Visakhapatnam, and the necessary data were collected using a schedule based on the study group's socioeconomic empowerment. This schedule discusses the demographics, socioeconomic status, awareness, and benefits of rural dairy women empowerment. As a result, the primary objective of this research paper is to assess and document the impact of dairy farming on women's socioeconomic empowerment in rural areas. For this purpose, the rural areas of Visakhapatnam district have been considered. This model has become the most structured in the country and serves as the foundation for dairy farming. It also shows how dairy farming can aid in the development of rural communities. The findings suggest that dairy farming empowers rural women in terms of social, economic, nutritional, and nutritional status, while also improving their social, economic, food, and nutritional status.
