The effectiveness of mouthwashes in controlling plaque accumulation and their extraordinary antibacterial properties has led to the rise of use of mouthwashes.On the other hand, Flax seeds are fiber crops that are known to contain Omega 3,6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, Alpha linolenic acid, lignans and fiber which can alleviate the inflammatory process. They have pro-resolving properties which can inhibit the recruitment of TNF- α and neutrophils to the inflamed periodontium
