Abstract
There is a difference between the growth of bandwidth and the growth of computer capabilities. The computer power grows 10% higher than the bandwidth growth. Optical technology provides the facilities to increase the use of bandwidths so that the future demand can be satisfied for some decades. The optical network plays the major to meet the current demand of data transmission in the world. Optical network moves the endto-end transmission wavelength to all optical networks. Lightpath is the optical medium in optical networking.
Routing of light paths and assignment of wavelength are major functions of wavelength division multiplexing network. There are several some major traditional techniques available for the assignment of wavelength and routing. In this work we analyse the performance of traditional RWAtechniques in terms of delay and blocking probability
