Abstract
The presented article deals with the development of women writing in literature, specifically in the English of the Victorian period in the XIX century. This period in the history of English Literature includes three stages that witnessed how the British society welcomed many woman writers. English prose was divided into two categories. The first category included novels written for public by male writers, while the second one written for domestic public by female writers.
