Abstract
Dental pain control during and after endodontic therapy is still a significant concern. Dental anxiety is known to
directly lower the pain threshold in patients and can affect how painful they perceive their condition to be. An
extremely efficient noninvasive method of pain relief in cases of acute dental pain is psychological involvement.
However, the pulp that has been identified as having irreversible pulpitis and that is experiencing spontaneous,
moderate-to-severe pain may not respond to the local anesthetic (LA) in a way that allows the operator to pursue a
pain-free course of action. In this overview, several anesthetic failure strategies are discussed, along with variables
that predispose people to pain and techniques for preventing pain. These strategies will help the practitioner manage
pain effectively
