Mnemonic-based Graphical Text Password Scheme

Abstract
User authentication is a process of determining whether a user is a valid user or not. In general, Passwords are used for the user authentication process to verify the genuine user. Users are having difficulty in memorizing or recalling their passwords for different websites. There are some alternative methods to improve user's memorability or usability to recall their passwords. This paper proposes Mnemonic based Graphical Password, graphical password is textual cue and text graphics. The proposed scheme uses regional language alphabets and words to recognize and recall an image. Users can easily recall their own set of alphabets in the form of graphics. In general, mnemonic text password is generated from set of passphrases by taking first letter in a
phrase but, here text is embedded in the image icons to identify and recall them easily.
The proposed method is secure against the dictionary, brute-force search, and spyware attacks. The proposed method is compared with existing text, graphical password, or virtual keyboard mechanism.
