This article delves into a significant chapter of contemporary Algerian history, marking a transformative moment that profoundly altered the political landscape. We explore these themes through the insights of Abou El Kacem Saâdallah, a seminal figure in modern Algerian historiography. Our study retraces the historical underpinnings of the May 8th, 1945 massacres in Algeria, examining their principal triggers and underlying motivations.
