Abstract
One of the most common fractures is a forearm fracture. In forearm fractures, anatomic reduction with plates and
screws is the gold standard because it is vital to restore rotational stability and retain double bone length. Screws IM
(intramedullary) are commonly used in paediatric fractures because of the thick periosteum and improved potential
for bone remodelling in children, but they are not commonly used in adults because to their lack of resistance to
rotational force and axial loading. Screw IM, on the other hand, are ideal for the stabilisation of proximal forearm
fractures, since they minimise extensive soft tissue dissection and the risk of PIN damage. For the treatment of adult
forearm fractures, rigid plate fixation remains the gold standard. Internal fixation of adult proximal radial fractures
may now be accomplished with IM. We can avoid neuromuscular harm and get good aesthetic results by limiting
soft tissue dissection.
