Abstract
Background: The processes for harvesting soft tissue grafts are frequently accompanied with some level of
morbidity which results in commercially available xenogeneic collagen matrices. The blood clot is more effectively
stabilized by this collagen matrix, which also promotes vascularization. Furthermore, this biomaterial enhances root
coverage and keratinized gingiva regeneration in both width and thickness.
Aim: The purpose of the case report is to use a novel biomaterial for the management of miller’s class 1 gingival
recession.
Case report: This case report highlights a case scenario where a patient is having severe sensitivity and miller’s
class 1 gingival recession in relation to 44,45 & 46. Phase1 periodontal therapy was done and after a week tunnel
and pouch using three dimensional volume stabilizing collagen matrix.
Results: On 6 month follow up 100% root coverage was seen in relation to 44,45 and 46.
Conclusion: Three dimensional volume stable collagen matrix - Fibro-Guide® is beneficial for managing gingival
recession, making it as an alternative to the soft tissue autogenous grafts
