INTRODUCTION: Rubber dam, an important revolutionary invention in the field of dentistry by Dr.SC Barnum in the year 1864 improvised the accessibility and visibility to the working area, the efficiency of the operator as intermittent expectoration, it also improvised the properties of dental materials leading to overall increase in the final outcome of the restoration. AIM: To evaluate the knowledge attitude and awareness on importance of rubber dam among dental students MATERIALS AND METHOD: An online survey was conducted with a self-structured questionnaire among dental students with a sample size of 100. The questionnaire was designed using the online survey platform “google forms” and the questionnaire was circulated and responses were collected. A Chi-square test was done with SPSS software version 21.0 and values were analyzed. Bar diagrams and Pie charts were used for output variable representation. P value was set at 0.05.
