KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS DENTAL IMPLANTS AMONG GENERAL POPULATION - A CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY

Abstract
Aim : The aim of the present study was to analyse the knowledge and attitude of dental implants among
the general population of Chennai. Materials & Methods : An online survey of 20-25 questions based on
the knowledge and attitude of dental implants had been prepared and uploaded online and circulated
among 150 general population .
Results : From the observed results of the survey among the 150 general population 80% were
adequately aware of dental implants and the remaining 20% of the individuals had very less knowledge
comparatively. In comparison, the p value was found to be about 0.00 which is statistically significant.
Conclusion : This present study concludes knowledge and awareness levels were adequate and created
awareness on dental implants.
Clinical Significance : The general population has adequate knowledge and awareness on dental
implants,for a complete knowledge on dental implants dental camps , pamphlets and social media
infographics can be done.
