Abstract
This research paper attempts to examine the impact of gender diversity of board on corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of the Indian companies forming part of nifty fifty indexes for the time period 2017-2018. Statistical facts/data related to companies’ social responsibility and board of directors is compiled from the published annual financial reports of the companies. In order to understand the relationship and influence of gender diversity of board on CSR, statistical tools like correlation and regression are applied. Results of the study show that the companies’ board is found male dominated irrespective of the compulsion of including one woman director on board. Key findings of the analysis indicate that gender diversity exert positive but moderate influence on corporate social responsibility
