Impact of Microfinance on Agriculture Sector: An Analysis

Abstract
Microfinance services can provide agriculture & allied services sector workers as well as small and marginal farmers much needed credit facilities as an alternative to existing financial services. As microfinance institutions
don’t require collateral it can become an important source for short term credit delivery without much hassle.According to a report by ministry of statistics and programme implementation (2019) most of the small and marginal agricultural households now depend on wage work for survival. As agriculture sector is highly dependenton seasonal variations this paper tries to answer the question whether microfinance can be useful for the agriculture sector workers as well as farmers for overall improvement of their socio- economic status under some mentioned parameters. Both primary and secondary data has been considered for this study and analysis has been done using statistical tools such as Paired T test and Likert 5 scale analysis. For display of data tables and figure were also used.
