Abstract
Environmental education is a process that allows individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. The study investigated on the impact of Environmental Education on environmental attitudes towards biodiversity conservation and greening. Data was collected from 200 secondary school students of 100 Male and 100 Female students. The survey questionnaire consisted of statements prompted by the question “To what extent do you agree with the following statements about problems with the biodiversity issues.” Students indicated strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, and strongly agree. The questionnaire inquired students’ awareness of biodiversity and the impact of human activity on biodiversity. The students’ attitudes were analyzed by frequency of response and average value of response. Based on the findings, it is clear that a significant majority of secondary school students (83% to 97%) possess a strong favourable attitude toward biodiversity conservation and greening. They demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of ecological interdependence, the rights of non-human species to exist, and the necessity of protecting ecosystems from human-driven degradation like pollution and pesticides.
