How the Application of the MURI-Q (Murottal Rhythm Qur'an) Method Correlates to Students' Motivation Memorizing Short Surahs of the Quran

Abstract
This research is motivated by the low motivation of students in learning tahfidz.
Students feel bored quickly and quickly forget rote memorization because in general
teachers still use the classical method including the lecture method the teacher only
gives orders without providing a solution on how to memorize a fast and fun method.
This study aims to increase students' motivation in memorizing short suras with an
approach using the Muri-Q (Murattal Irama Qur'an) method. The research was
conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Bedoyo.Yogyakarta. Indonesia. The method used
in this research is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design
approach. The results showed that there was an effect of the Muri-Q method on
increasing students' motivation in memorizing short suras. The results of the study
were proven from the results of the N-Gain statistical test and T-test, with the
average value of the pretest and posttest results of the experimental class of 75%
and Included in the category of quite effective. Based on the results of the t-test, the
value of 9.079>1.697 is considered very significant compared to the t-table of 0.000
<0.05. It is concluded that there is an effect of increasing student motivation in
memorizing short suras using the Muri-Q method.
