FACTORS INFLUENCING DECISION MAKING ON STOCK INVESTMENT AMONG FEMALE INVESTORS IN MALAYSIA

Abstract
Decision making refers to the act or process of choosing a preferred option or course of action from a set of alternatives. Investing in financial markets has gradually become a source of income for individuals all around the world, especially in the stock markets. This research aims to investigate the effect of socio-economic factors(attitude, confidence level, and information access) on the decision making of investment in the stock market among female investors in Malaysia. From the 113 collected questionnaires distributed among female working adults based in Kuala Lumpur and using correlation and multiple regression analysis, this research concludes that confidence level and information access have a significant relationship with female investors’ decision making on stock investment whereas attitude is found not to be a significant factor.
