Abstract
Background: Bronchiolitis usually occurs during the first year of life, with a peak incidence between 3 and 6 months of age, and represents the main reason for hospitalization in the young population.Currently, chest Ultrasound is not considered in the diagnostic algorithm for assessment of pneumonia in children with acute bronchiolitis even though its usefulness has been tested in several studies in the last years as an emerging diagnostic tool. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of LUS for the detection of pneumonia in children with acute bronchiolitis.
