Abstract
Children with dyslexia react emotionally, become frustrated, loose their self-esteem and develop a negative self-image due to repeated failure, negative feedback and poor academic performance. Education of these children is a matter of concern for all the educators as normal method of teaching does not help them. In this paper researcher compared two such approaches(Eclectic Approach and Ron Davis Approach) which can help to improve academic achievement of dyslexic children. Sample of the study comprised of 30 dyslexic students of 3rd and 4th classes studying in the different English medium schools of Nawanshahr, Punjab. It was found that both Ron Davis Approach and Eclectic Approach were superior to Traditional Approach in improving academic achievement in English of the students when groups were matched with respect to pre-academic achievement in English. Moreover there was no significant difference amongst both these approaches in improving academic achievement in English of dyslexic students.
