Abstract
If we can develop an environment of peace and a system of law and order that is equitable for all
human beings, world can be a good place to live. Development is not limited to a single country. Instead, it is
everyone’s right. Everyone should have an equal chance to flourish, regardless of their geographic, educational,
or socioeconomic background. This is actual meaning of human civilisation and growth. However, putting this
ideology into practise will take a lot of effort. Following WWII, United Nations and many other international
governing agencies were established with this goal of establishing and maintaining a peaceful and nurturing
environment for all. These governing organisations and member governments have worked hard to develop a set
of universal human rights that will provide all people with equal standing and status world-over. United Nations
has made a significant contribution, not only in drafting but also in implementation of these universal rights.
Organisation of United Nations, their authority, responsibilities, and involvement into human rights have all
been examined in this study. It also sheds light on how these rights have evolved in tandem with dynamics of
international environment.
