Developing the Future of E-commerce: Major Challenges and Solutions: A Quantitative Approach
Abstract
Developing the future of e-commerce presents a multitude of major challenges that require innovative
solutions to ensure the industry's continued growth and success. Keeping up with the ever-changing threat
landscape requires improving cybersecurity. Cyberattacks and data breaches increase with online
transactions. To protect client data and develop confidence, e-commerce enterprises must invest in solid
security systems, modern encryption, and strict authentication methods. Optimising client experience is
another major difficulty. E-commerce companies must create seamless, tailored encounters across many
platforms to meet customer expectations. To analyse massive volumes of data, forecast customer
behavior, and recommend products, AI and ML must be integrated. Improve customer happiness by
optimizing logistics and order fulfilment. Automation and analytics improve supply chain processes,
delivery times, and accuracy. Future e-commerce sustainability must be addressed. E-commerce wastes
energy emits carbon and creates packaging. E-commerce can reduce its environmental impact by using
eco-friendly packaging, better shipping, and warehouse energy optimisation. E-commerce, technology,
and regulatory organisations must work together to tackle these issues. E-commerce will be sustainable
and secure if best practices, industry standards, and responsible data handling are shared. Research and
development, combined with ongoing innovation, will provide new e-commerce solutions to meet
changing needs and difficulties. E-commerce can thrive by adopting these technologies, bringing global
consumers exceptional ease, personalisation, and sustainability. The researcher had considered a group of
198 people involved in e-commerce to know the challenges and solutions in developing the future of ecommerce. The study concludes that there is a significant effect of different challenges and solutions in
developing the future of e-commerce.
