Abstract
Insecurity and physical threat to women are major barriers in women entrepreneurship and social development. Brutality against women is one form of human rights violation deeply ingrained in gender-based favouritism and social customs. Crime against women resulted into sexual, physical, psychological, economic impairment, deprivation of liberty to girls and women. The best means to stop brutality against women is to avoid it from happening in initial place by detecting its origin and structural reasons. Assam has been encountered by growing brutality against women since 2010
