Abstract
Popular proverbs are the essence of human experiences and the outcomes of both blessings and hardships, which has granted them a prominent status among the forms of folk literature. They serve as a means of guiding individual behavior and reflect a range of human reactions. Proverbs clearly express the relationships that individuals may establish in their lives—whether within the family, characterized by kindness or instability and the need for careful interaction, or with others, often shaped by social divisions and class disparities between the rich and the poor. Within all this, popular proverbs carry social, political, cultural, and even historical dimensions and values that reflect the customs, traditions, rituals, and folklore of specific environments. Thus, they represent a valuable resource for researchers in the field of anthropological studies. This is the aim of the present study, which seeks to uncover the reality of proverbs by exploring the dimensions, values, and meanings they convey in order to gain a deeper understanding of society.
