Cognitive Thinking Skills of Mathematics Departments Students in the Colleges of Education

Abstract
This research aims to detect and examine the cognitive thinking skills of the students of mathematics departments in
the colleges of education in Baghdad , as well as to find the differences , which are due to the gender variable (
males and females ) and that affect the level of their cognitive thinking skills. The sample consisted of ( 544 )
students : ( 252 ) students for Ibn Al- Haitham college and ( 292 ) for Al- Mustansiriya university. The two
researchers used the t- test for this sample , where the results showed that all students possessed the cognitive
thinking skills and the female students sample's cognitive thinking was higher than the male students on the
cognitive thinking test.
