Abstract
The problem of the present study is titled as “Cognitive styles of secondary school students”. The researcher adopted normative survey method. In the study 179 male and female Secondary School Students from various Schools located in Chennai District were selected as sample by random sampling method. They were from government, government aided and private schools. The Cognitive styles inventory was developed by Jha (1983). It was noted that gender and locality were playing a vital role in hindering the choice of cognitive styles of Secondary School Students. Research findings shows that the significant difference in the cognitive styles of Rural and Urban secondary school students.
