Abstract
The current research set out to investigate what it was like for college and university students who were forced to switch to distance education because of the COVID-19 epidemic. The purpose of this study was to answer the question, "What strengths and obstacles are connected with online learning among undergraduate and graduate students who are suddenly switching from a classroom to an online learning environment owing to the COVID-19 pandemic?" Thirty students from the College of Arts and Sciences at Dr BR Ambedkar University and twenty from Andhra University participated in the study. A 10-item survey was filled out by each participant. A thematic analysis in six stages was used to understand the data in light of the Community of Inquiry paradigm. Findings suggested that the benefits of taking courses online included higher levels of student involvement and flexibility, as well as teachers' and students' familiarity with the material, more free time for themselves, and the ability to apply a variety of teaching and learning strategies. Troubles arose in the classroom because of disruptive students, a lack of visual aids, and disruptions from home life. The study's limited sample size might restrict its generalizability to other pupils. These results shed light on some of the problems that might prevent students from completing online courses successfully.
