Abstract
Some physical properties, qualitative chemical composition, and the
effect of the oil extract of basil (Ocimum basilicum) from the Labiatae family were
investigated. The effect of this oil on inhibiting certain microorganisms isolated
from meat was studied using the agar well diffusion method. The total number of
microorganisms in minced meat treated with this oil for different periods
