Teaching (TBLT) in Gamo Zone secondary schools in Ethiopia. The data for this study was collected
through questionnaires from a total of 32 teachers. All secondary schools teachers from the three
selected districts were included in the study by using comprehensive sampling technique. In order to
gather data from the subjects of the study, questionnaire was used. Quantitative methods of data
analysis were employed. SPSS version 22 Windows was used to analyze the results of the
questionnaire. One sample t-test was used to assure whether the observed and the expected mean
score differences were significant. Findings of the study revealed that the study of perception of
TBLT demonstrated that Task-Based Language Teaching(TBLT) has not been implemented
successfully within secondary schools in Gamo Zone as teachers have only limited perception.
Finally, recommendations were forwarded based on the main findings of the study.
