Introduction: Ankylosis is a condition of direct fusion of the root with the surrounding alveolar bone. Depending on the patient’s growth rate and bone metabolism, it is usually accompanied by progressive resorption of the root and infraocclusio of the crown. The prognosis of ankylosed teeth undergoing significant resorption is hopeless, and it is to be replaced with an implant prosthesis.
