Abstract
The context of "hashtag activism," one of the digital activism modes, is analyzed in this paper. The study investigated the Instagram-based activist movement using the #challenge accepted hashtag to bring attention to the issue of violence against women. The goal of this research is to determine how much the "Me Too" movement has influenced people's resolve to end sexual harassment and assault against women, and then to use that knowledge to propose a framework for doing so, with the help of the media. Eight hundred Indians were polled through email and the messaging service WhatsApp. According to the findings, social media campaigns like the "Me Too" movement may increase support for legislation to combat sexual harassment of women. Participation in such social movements has been shown to enhance knowledge of sex-based offenses, which in turn increases the likelihood that steps will be taken to curb sexual harassment of women.
