Abstract
Shanghai Cooperation Organization is the sole initiative of China and Russia to counterbalance the unipolar world system dominated by the United States. Members of SCO have their territorial issues which they have solved successfully. After the resolution of their border disputes they brought their attention toward three main problems viz, terrorism, extremism and separatism, as both China and Russia have problems in Xingiang and Chechniya respectively. Now the inclusion of Pakistan and India as full members of SCO in 2017, broaden its issue areas. Both Pakistan and India are ambitious to reach energy rich, landlocked Central Asian states but both have territorial issues, and terrorist claims upon each other. Kashmir is mostly the bone of contention between Pakistan and India. This dispute may hamper the activities of SCO like that of SAARC. Therefore it needs to play its role
