Abstract
Aim: The study shows how to improve power quality in linear and nonlinear power distribution systems using shunt active power filters and series active power filters without using UPQC and by using novel PI tuned UPQC. Methods and materials: Sample size is calculated using G power software (power- 0.8 and alpha -0.05). There are two sample groups with 50 samples, each having 25 samples. These samples were taken without the usage of UPQC and by connecting Novel PI tuned UPQC. Result: The mean load voltage of PI connected UPQC is 243.43 volts and the without UPQC 260.00 volts. The significance value of this study is observed to be 0.01 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The load voltage produced without connecting the UPQC in the power system is less when compared to PI tuned UPQC systems.
