Abstract
This paper aims at identifying the African American experiences of slavery and freedom. A Mercy reveals what lies beneath the surface of slavery in early America. A Mercy is a novel, it is about 16years old black women slaves
life with a very strong historical back ground during the 1600s. Back America is not an independent country, white people from various places came to America to colonize. They used black slaves to cultivate their land. Florens is
the main character in the story. She become a slave when she inherits her mother status. She is sold to another employer with her mother permission. At her new work place, she becomes a good girl and slave during her journey
she has faced social and humanity problems discriminations toward her race and Judgement. Slavery, Motherhood,Migration are the main theme of this work
