Abstract
Inflation is a critical macroeconomic variable of long-standing interest for economists and financial managers alike. Investors typically turn to the equity asset class to get real returns after accounting for expenses, inflation, and taxation. There are four objectives this research paper attempts to address concerning Inflation and Mutual Funds. Consideringthe Indian Equity Mutual Fund Schemes, this research examines the relationship between inflation and four mutual fund-related factors – launch of new schemes, fund flows, NAV price movement, and its impact on competition amongst various schemes. Statistical tools including Correlation, Linear Regression Models, ANOVA, and HHI are used to assess the impact between the variables and to drive conclusions. This research can help policymakers and financial product developersdesign and launch mutual fund schemes better.
