Pages: 2520-2525
Abstract
Dalit writers assert that it is their moral and ethical duty to challenge the dominance of upper-caste ideology because they are at the social and moral boundaries of society and are subject to cultural oppression based on caste, gender, and religion. As a result, Bama's story is one of faith and scepticism in Christianity as well as of gaining faith and belief in the ideology of uplifting the underprivileged and the collective consciousness of the underprivileged community. In this article, an analysis of Bama's Karukku in the self-reflexive narrative mode has been discussed.
