Abstract
Background: The aim of this study was to assess the changes inIntraocularPressure (IOP) in patients with migraine during acute migraine attacks and compare them with painless period and healthy controls using GoldmannApplanation Tonometer (GAT). Methods: This prospective, case–control study was conducted at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai. The intraocular pressure of 50 migraine patients during acute migraine attacks and painless period and 50 age- and sex-matched healthy subjects was measured using a Goldmann Applanation Tonometer (GAT). All patients in this studyunderwent a complete ocular examination. All IOP measurementsfor patients in the control group and for migraine patients (in the headache free period) were taken at the’ same time of day (10am–12pm) in order to minimize the effects of diurnal variation. Patients with acute attacks of migraine were excluded from this time duration
