Abstract
‘Social media has become a rich resource of human interest stories and moments, which may be related to news
or entertainment.’ Social media, according to them, is a potent tool for building a brand, inspiring a cause,
spreading brand value and improving customer loyalty.It helps the brands in consolidating their presence,
generating leads, capturing customer insights and interacting with their existing and potential consumers.The
growing influence of social media on Indian youth can be seen in the form of a number of interesting examples,
among them the growth of startups in the country, a large number of college and school students who are now
using social media to interact, gain followers and exchange experiences, a significant increase in the number of
startups/businesses as well as corporates with active social media pages and the increase in number of real-time
conversations in online spaces.
