Abstract
The article is based privacy law in India with references to cyber law. The paper tries to justify the focus on the privacy law in India and its important point of determining the act whether it’s private or in public domain. Analysing on different landmark cases and decision discussed is an eye opener in concept of privacy and it tries to discuss the legal substructure in protecting it. The scope and regulation prescribed under IT Act, 2008 has been highlighted in terms of protection of data/information which is private in nature. The Draft Reasonable Security Practices Rules 2011 and various act done in order to protect data privacy has been discussed in this article. With the wide range of issues and challenges in order to establish the Right of Privacy both in physical and virtual space clarifies that privacy is a fundamental absolute right, which is essential to human liberty and dignity and any individual found violating it will be undergoing through procedures and be tried with punishments
