Abstract
Self-Help-Groups act as an intermediate for the microfinance institution to reach out the women of rural area. It is self-help-group which enables the women to become independent and motivate them to be a part of the family income generating activities. In this paper the objective of the researcher is to know the demographic profile of the women and how it helps them to be socially & economically empowered. For this the researcher has done a survey in all the sixteen blocks of Alwar district of Rajasthan. For which the researcher has used a non-probability sampling technique and did a survey of 496 SHG beneficiaries. After the data has been collected the researcher framed five hypotheses and after this the selected data was tested in the SPSS software, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA has been done. The result of the shown that thewomen of the Alwar become socially & economically empowered
