Health insurance widely known to helps to defer, delay, reduce or avoid payment for health care incurred by individuals and households. There are lots of companies which have been offering the cheap medical claim policies in India. This study focuses on to know the awareness level, willingness to avail health insurance and also through lights on other avenue which preferred for investment. The study was conducted through structured questionnaire by convenience sampling methods to draw the opinion of the respondents. SPSS16 employed to analyse the data and percentage, ranking method and ANOVA are used to find the results of the study. The study concludes that many people are aware of health insurance, their preference to health insurance to reduce financial burden and finally insurance companies need to find new strategy to attract the people and break the traditional avenues of investment
