Abstract
To assess the QOL among elderly population.
Materials and Methods: The descriptive survey research method was used for this study. The samples for the study were chosen using a non-probability convenience sampling technique. The elderly people who met the sampling criteria were chosen until the sample size for the current study was determined. The sample size is made up of 100 elderly people from nuclear families and 100 elderly people from mixed families. For data collection, a structured interview Questionnaire with 35 items was used.
Result: In the joint family the quality of 23 (31.9 %) samples was good, but it was 15 (53.6 %) in the nuclear family. There was a significant relationship between the level of quality of life and the number of male children in a joint family
