The present study was conducted to examine the mediating role of self-esteem in the relationship between attachment (mother, father and peer) and depressive symptoms among late adolescents. For this study, total sample (N=254) consisting of 128 girls and 126 boys of age range 17-18 yrs, was selected from various schools and colleges of Moga, Punjab, India. The self-reporting questionnaires of depression (BDI-II), Self-esteem (Rosenberg self-esteem scale) and attachment (IPPA) were administered to obtain the required data. It was found that self-esteem significantly and partially mediates the relationship between attachment (mother, father and peer) and depressive symptoms.
