A SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS ON PARENTING STYLES AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH LEARNED RESOURCEFULNESS AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AMONG ADOLESCENTS

Abstract
The literature supports the significance of parenting approaches that are required to meet children's developmental
requirements and ultimately enhance their quality of life. The parenting style typology developed by Baum rind was
used. Numerous researches have looked at the connection between parenting types (authoritative, authoritarian, and
permissive parenting styles) and academic performance, but measurements of this association with regard to Bhopal
are lacking. In the current study, learned resourcefulness served as relationship between the variable in an analysis of
the link between academic performance and parenting style of Three hundred and thirteen college students from four
academic departments make up the study's sample. Academic performance and learned resourcefulness were
measured. GPA was used to gauge how well teenagers were doing in college. Students were asked to respond to a selfreported questionnaire. The structural model was tested with the aid of structural equation modeling. According to the
study's findings, there is no connection between parenting style and academic performance.
Additionally, the association between an authoritative parenting style and is by learned resourcefulness. Learned
Resourcefulness in persons is a crucial quality required for the psychological growth of teenagers. Learned
resourcefulness boosts a person's confidence to advance. More study is required to determine how Parenting style
affects learned resourcefulness and academic performance in Bhopal. Discussed are the implications for parents and
educators.
