Pages: 4422-4428
Abstract
Information Systems (IS) are widely acknowledged as critical for organisations to survive and grow in today's competitive global economic climate. Information systems have become vital lifelines, serving as "enablers and facilitators" in the provision and analysis of coherent data. It is due to a highly competitive climate that has driven businesses to perform at lightning speed in order to maintain their existence and place in the industry. As a result, businesses are continuously battling to develop new products and create efficient procedures in order to obtain a competitive advantage. Hospitals who use high performance systems to develop, encourage, and empower individuals to begin and innovate will undoubtedly be the victors of tomorrow. The HR department is included at the strategy table rather than in administrative meetings in these businesses. That can only happen if HR managers are able to give the appropriate information at the right time, as accurate data is one of the foundations of any decision. It is an information system based on information technology that can give fast and reliable data. However, one of the key benefits of automating HR procedures is that it allows HR employees to spend more time on strategic activities and obtain a competitive advantage by reducing the amount of time they have to spend on operational activities.
